Passion is my Drug . . .

Passion is my Drug . . .

TRUTH is my DRUG . . . It’s hard to swallow for most people.  It’s hurts when it goes down, but it makes you feel alight, once it’s flowing through your system.  You’ve survived.  You’re more aware.  It cuts the numbness and it flows through thru, it helps to take the edge off. . . It’s necessary to continue on . . .

Introspection ~ that’s my philosophy ~  my DA!LY DR!VER ~ I don't need a Dr. Telling me what’s wrong or a preacher telling me what I should believe in or my father saying you can't ~ ALL I need is me, myself & I ~ Believing in myself believing in my vision.  Not necessarily knowing the correct path but believing theirs a higher power watching over me, protecting me, & guiding me along this so called journey of LIFE.  I need wisdom & I cannot do this alone ~ but most of the time, I do feel alone, sometimes even hopeless, but that’s when I have to dig even deeper, that’s when I MUST pull out my gift . . . INTROSPECTION . . . My belief system, my desire, my Da!ly Dr!ve  ~ it’s all inner woven, connected in more ways than one ~ introspection is my right of passage ~ if you’re not asking yourself, Da!ly, what the Fuk is going on, then you’re not holding yourself accountable & surely you’re not challenging yourself.   Progression is human nature ~ it’s the essence of existence ~ the foundation for a better life ~ so unless you're 100% happy and content in your life today, I suggest you start looking inward before you start judging outward.  Quit complaining about your life ~ it all starts with you.  So harden the fuk up and make something happen, today !  It all ends with you.  Unless you want someone to choose your life, dictate how the final chapter should be written, my suggestion is to get off your ass & start working. . .  And learn to crawl before you can walk . . . Then learn to walk before you can run . . . Then run before you can sprint.  Most people dream of success, however some of us WAKE UP & WORK HARD for it.  So if you truly are content with your life, then do nothing.  But if you want to make a change, then look inward before outward . . . I'm not asking for a radical change, just the opportunity to change your mind, however slightly, just your thought process on how you look inward before outward.  And only then can you start preparing for a better life ahead of you.

It’s simple not easy !!

This will take time . . . days, weeks, suffering, struggling, discipline, commitment, a strong desire & belief system.  This will take YOU to be ALL IN . . . Fuk what anyone else says ~ for me . . . I love it when they doubt me or 2nd guess me ~ they don't know it but they're giving me courage, hope & fuel for my fire ~ the one that no one can see or feel, but its buried deep inside me & it keeps me warm ~ my introspection is my ticket to the promise land ~ I’m constantly critiquing myself, making small course correction, minor detail changes in certain areas of my life & holding myself accountable ~ it’s my DA!LY DR!VER !!

Happy Holidays !!!

Lack Luster Lost . . . v4 . . . Da!ly Dr!ve . . . Coffee Coaches . . .

Speaking about the true essence of collaboration and knowledge transfer . . . My beliefs and feelings are too deep, as I do not see enough people truly developing relationships.  Everyone seems to be communicating however most people do not make true connections.  So much is lost in translation.
Example:  Went to a ½ days sales rep interview session, met some really great professionals, some who have the potential to be really really good professionals and tons who are lacking in some area or another.  The single most impressive person, I continue to keep in with, through a social media platform . . . However, my counter parts have brushed her off, simply because they did not attend this event and were NOT INVESTED truly in their jobs, lack luster – lost connections . . . This person has now excepted another job.  Even though I sent her resume to two different Talent Acquisition folks and reminded them to contact her, which one of these TA folks did, however the call was short and not really impactful. . . . The candidate felt a lack of ownership and a lack of care.  Not a good candidate experience.

Why do so many Talent Acquisition people lose sight of the true meaning of souring, recruiting, attracting and retaining TOP TALENT.  We all want it and we all say it however it has been my professional view that very few actually LIVE IT . . . We, the few, the proud, no not the marines, rather the True Advisors, actually believe it, feel it, know it and live it ~ EVERYDAY.  We are truly committed to making a difference by hiring the best, not always the brightest, but the best.  Some people are very resourceful and they are not always the smartest people in the conversation, but they have the DESIRE – this is a critical element to success.  They live with passion and are committed to the success of the entire company, not just their own dept.

Also, Talent Mobility is vital to a company and helps to retain TOP TALENT.  So why do so many managers spend so few hours with their employees.  To me, the answer is simple.  They’re SELFISH . . . I was not raised this way nor taught, in business, to be selfish rather SELFLESS . . . Yes, It does suck sometimes, spending time training, investing in great people to do great things, only to lose them to another dept. another manager and it stings especially if this great trained person goes to a manager who does not invest in their people.  Your hard work, sometimes does not get notice and sometimes, it’s a thankless job.  Yes, this part of the equation sucks, but it is still necessary.
I heard a quote, one time.  You can train good people to be great and they might leave.  Of you could choose not train good people and they might just stay.

This is YOUR CHOICE.

I have always struggled to find a true mentor.  Sure people want the recognition, they want to help, but they simply do not care enough and do not make the time.  They are not investors in your future.  Let’s face it, for the majority of people, if you are not adding value to their work, their bottom-line, then they write you off.  They might pretend like they care, cause they don’t have the gall to tell you directly or they want to check that box off on their performance reviews so they can meet or exceed their bonus, but really, all they want to do is make themselves look good.  It’s pretty simple and it’s pretty easy to do, brush off people who may or may not help you in your career.  I find it funny, when someone blows you off, doesn’t help you, then years later, reaches out to have you help them find a new career cuz they got laid-off, fired or right-sized.  Really?  You want me to help you now?  Hum, and sometimes I have and sometimes I haven’t – it all depends on who the person is and what my connection was with this person.  Not because I can make money off of their placement or not because I get recognized, but because I do not like to see people unemployed.

Also, here’s a little pet peeve of mine . . . When people ask for your help, then you make the time and then they rush you or disregard your true offerings.  They ignore your advice, then wonder why things aren’t working out the way they wanted it to or why they can’t get promoted, why they can’t progress in their career or why they can’t find a job.  Some of my advice to people is outside the normal comfort level, meaning walking up to a stranger at work and asking if they know someone in a different dept?  For me, this is very easy.  Just ask. For a lot of people, this is a tough one.  Also, sending an email inquiring about a job without it being posted on the company’s website or seeing it on the internet.  This is how I do my CREATIVE RECRUITING.  I do not reply to most postings and have only received one job based on a posting.  Most of the time, I ask people, who are in my network.  About half of them I have never met nor spoken to.  This is where the magic happens.  I would elaborate, but I’m not going to give away MY TRADE SECRETS to just anyone.  If you want to know more, then you will need to ask.  Simply put . . . Just ask . . .
Thanks,

Steve
