Passion is my Drug . . .
Passion is my Drug . . .
TRUTH is my DRUG . . . It’s hard to swallow for most
people. It’s hurts when it goes down,
but it makes you feel alight, once it’s flowing through your system. You’ve survived. You’re more aware. It cuts the numbness and it flows through
thru, it helps to take the edge off. . . It’s necessary to continue on . . .
Introspection
~ that’s my philosophy ~ my DA!LY DR!VER ~ I don't need a Dr. Telling me
what’s wrong or a preacher telling me what I should believe in or my father
saying you can't ~ ALL I need is me, myself & I ~ Believing in myself
believing in my vision. Not necessarily knowing the correct path but
believing theirs a higher power watching over me, protecting me, & guiding
me along this so called journey of LIFE. I need wisdom & I cannot do
this alone ~ but most of the time, I do feel alone, sometimes even hopeless,
but that’s when I have to dig even deeper, that’s when I MUST pull out my gift
. . . INTROSPECTION . . . My belief system, my desire, my Da!ly Dr!ve ~ it’s
all inner woven, connected in more ways than one ~ introspection is my right of
passage ~ if you’re not asking yourself, Da!ly, what the Fuk is going on, then
you’re not holding yourself accountable & surely you’re not challenging
yourself. Progression is human nature ~ it’s the essence of existence ~
the foundation for a better life ~ so unless you're 100% happy and content in
your life today, I suggest you start looking inward before you start judging
outward. Quit complaining about your
life ~ it all starts with you. So harden the fuk up and make something
happen, today ! It all ends with you.
Unless you want someone to choose your life, dictate how the final
chapter should be written, my suggestion is to get off your ass & start
working. . . And learn to crawl before
you can walk . . . Then learn to walk before you can run . . . Then run before
you can sprint. Most people dream of
success, however some of us WAKE UP & WORK HARD for it. So if you
truly are content with your life, then do nothing. But if you want to
make a change, then look inward before outward . . . I'm not asking for a
radical change, just the opportunity to change your mind, however slightly,
just your thought process on how you look inward before outward. And only then can you start preparing for a
better life ahead of you.
It’s simple not easy !!
This
will take time . . . days, weeks, suffering, struggling, discipline, commitment,
a strong desire & belief system. This will take YOU to be ALL IN . .
. Fuk what anyone else says ~ for me . . . I love it when they doubt me or 2nd
guess me ~ they don't know it but they're giving me courage, hope & fuel
for my fire ~ the one that no one can see or feel, but its buried deep inside
me & it keeps me warm ~ my introspection is my ticket to the promise land ~
I’m constantly critiquing myself, making small course correction, minor detail
changes in certain areas of my life & holding myself accountable ~ it’s my
DA!LY DR!VER !!
Happy Holidays !!!

Lack Luster Lost . . . v4 . . . Da!ly Dr!ve . . . Coffee Coaches . . .
Speaking about the true essence of collaboration and
knowledge transfer . . . My beliefs and feelings are too deep, as I do not see
enough people truly developing relationships.
Everyone seems to be communicating however most people do not make true
connections. So much is lost in
translation.
Example: Went to a ½
days sales rep interview session, met some really great professionals, some who
have the potential to be really really good professionals and tons who are
lacking in some area or another. The
single most impressive person, I continue to keep in with, through a social
media platform . . . However, my counter parts have brushed her off, simply
because they did not attend this event and were NOT INVESTED truly in their
jobs, lack luster – lost connections . . . This person has now excepted another
job. Even though I sent her resume to
two different Talent Acquisition folks and reminded them to contact her, which
one of these TA folks did, however the call was short and not really impactful.
. . . The candidate felt a lack of ownership and a lack of care. Not a good candidate experience.
Why do so many Talent Acquisition people lose sight of the
true meaning of souring, recruiting, attracting and retaining TOP TALENT. We all want it and we all say it however it
has been my professional view that very few actually LIVE IT . . . We, the few,
the proud, no not the marines, rather the True Advisors, actually believe it,
feel it, know it and live it ~ EVERYDAY.
We are truly committed to making a difference by hiring the best, not
always the brightest, but the best. Some
people are very resourceful and they are not always the smartest people in the
conversation, but they have the DESIRE – this is a critical element to
success. They live with passion and are
committed to the success of the entire company, not just their own dept.
Also, Talent Mobility is vital to a company and helps to
retain TOP TALENT. So why do so many
managers spend so few hours with their employees. To me, the answer is simple. They’re SELFISH . . . I was not raised this
way nor taught, in business, to be selfish rather SELFLESS . . . Yes, It does
suck sometimes, spending time training, investing in great people to do great
things, only to lose them to another dept. another manager and it stings
especially if this great trained person goes to a manager who does not invest
in their people. Your hard work, sometimes
does not get notice and sometimes, it’s a thankless job. Yes, this part of the equation sucks, but it
is still necessary.
I heard a quote, one time.
You can train good people to be great and they might leave. Of you could choose not train good people and
they might just stay.
This is YOUR CHOICE.
I have always struggled to find a true mentor. Sure people want the recognition, they want
to help, but they simply do not care enough and do not make the time. They are not investors in your future. Let’s face it, for the majority of people, if
you are not adding value to their work, their bottom-line, then they write you
off. They might pretend like they care,
cause they don’t have the gall to tell you directly or they want to check that box
off on their performance reviews so they can meet or exceed their bonus, but
really, all they want to do is make themselves look good. It’s pretty simple and it’s pretty easy to
do, brush off people who may or may not help you in your career. I find it funny, when someone blows you off,
doesn’t help you, then years later, reaches out to have you help them find a
new career cuz they got laid-off, fired or right-sized. Really?
You want me to help you now? Hum,
and sometimes I have and sometimes I haven’t – it all depends on who the person
is and what my connection was with this person.
Not because I can make money off of their placement or not because I get
recognized, but because I do not like to see people unemployed.
Also, here’s a little pet peeve of mine . . . When people
ask for your help, then you make the time and then they rush you or disregard
your true offerings. They ignore your
advice, then wonder why things aren’t working out the way they wanted it to or
why they can’t get promoted, why they can’t progress in their career or why
they can’t find a job. Some of my advice
to people is outside the normal comfort level, meaning walking up to a stranger
at work and asking if they know someone in a different dept? For me, this is very easy. Just ask. For a lot of people, this is a
tough one. Also, sending an email
inquiring about a job without it being posted on the company’s website or
seeing it on the internet. This is how I
do my CREATIVE RECRUITING. I do not
reply to most postings and have only received one job based on a posting. Most of the time, I ask people, who are in my
network. About half of them I have never
met nor spoken to. This is where the
magic happens. I would elaborate, but
I’m not going to give away MY TRADE SECRETS to just anyone. If you want to know more, then you will need
to ask. Simply put . . . Just ask . . .
Thanks,
Steve

Hijacked conversations . . . Having Self Awareness . . .
Self Awareness ~ Hijacked conversation . . . There’s
a lot of things that people can work on, however being SELF AWARENESS is one of
the most critical elements of communication.
When interfacing with someone else, you’ve heard the terms this is an A
and B conversation, so C your way out of it.
What does this really mean? It
means, you entered the conversation in which someone doesn’t feel you belong and
they don’t want you involved. People
amaze me, sometimes, and I’m being facetious.
People lack Self Awareness, most
of the time. I was the same way, until
someone pulled me aside and made me realize.
And sometimes I probably still am unaware. However, on most occasions I am very aware of
how I enter, converse and add to a conversation. There are many levels of conversations from
the controlling the conversation “Type A” personality to the observant trying
to take it all in and then there’s the optimistic – agreeing with everything,
knows everyone and knows a little bit about everything or in some cases, nothing. Regardless of which type you are, or how you
are involved in a conversation, the question still remains, are you self-aware? If not, this is an area in which we can work
on. This is a critical factor in
communication and an area that you cannot overlook or be afraid to tackle. Simply put, you NEED to be self-aware. How you are projecting and being perceived
can be vital to your career or your life.
Coffee Coaches is hosting a workshop, both in
person, 1:1 and also WebEx for your viewing pleasure. We are going to create an environment where
you are very self-aware. Where you
understand how you are being perceived and you learn how you are coming
across. This is not a simply task,
however it is easy. You just have to come into this workshop with an open mind
and not be defensive. After all, this is
for you. This workshop is designed to
help you become more self-aware.
Harness your Awareness is a great workshop to help you
become self-aware.

Breathe in COURAGE and exhale F E A R . . .
Da!ly Dr!ve . . . v2 of 52 . . .
It’s STARTS with a POSITIVE (+) ATTITUDE and ends with . .
. Well, this is your story too, so you finish the sentence . . .
You’ve heard before . . . It’s not what happens to you that
matters, rather how you react to what happens to you . . . And that’s simply it
~ YOUR POSITIVE ATTITUDE . . . continuing to stay positive during adversity .
. . On Sunday, Nov. 15th hundreds and thousands of Triathletes set
out to Swim, Bike and Run the IMAZ – Ironman Arizona 140.6 miles . . . Through
the rain, the wind and the cold . . . many were tired, cold, wet and nervous,
but they kept on . . . And many of them accomplished their goals . . . Why, not
because they trained, not because they showed up and swam, biked or ran, but because
they were determined to finish – they had a strong mental and positive attitude
which carried them through the difficult times and helped them be strong, when
it would be easy to just stop . . . You see, our minds have a way of allowing
us to continue to press on, our bodies will do almost whatever it is our mind
believes . . . While I sat inside, watched
TV and chilled out . . . Hundreds of people were working hard, all day, some
more than 16 hours, to accomplish a goal that I have yet to tackle. Why, there are many reasons why. For me, I don’t enjoy running, so I have not
yet signed up for a full Ironman. But
that’s not the whole truth. I haven’t
signed up because I’m afraid of the run, not because I can’t do it. I’ve completed only one marathon, to date,
and it was painful. It was not fun. It was boring, which is why I quickly
switched to Triathlons, which is definitely better for me (suits my personality
– boredom).
Today, starts my new, non-complaining, revised patience,
calm and collective attitude process . . . I found myself getting caught up in
the minutia of everything and not really focusing on the MAIN thing – which is keeping
the main thing the main thing, which is BEING POSITIVE . . . For me, this means
building my consulting practice and being able to help people (of all
backgrounds) and coaching, mentoring and giving back. . . In addition, I am
planning to write and publish my first book.
After listening to The Seven Habits of highly Effective People: focusing
on #1 Be proactive #2 Begin with the END in mind #3 Put first things first #4
Think WIN – WIN #5 Seek to Understand then to be understood #6 Synergize &
#7 Sharpen the Saw . . . Stephen Covey (1989) The Seven Habits of highly
Effective People.
Today, we are focusing on Being Proactive – Starting the day
off with a POSITIVE ATTTITUDE, regardless.
SMILE . . . It’s contagious. I
know, it does sounds cheesy, but it’s infectious and people want to be around
positive and happy people. They are more
likely to be approached, to be engaging in conversation, more willing to help
out and give back.

Train like an UNDERDOGG but PLAY like a CHAMPION . . .
Da!ly Dr!ve . . . started today, Monday Nov. 9th, which is the first week of a 52 series Blog on Da!ly Nuggets . . . Little bits and pieces, digestible amounts of content to chew on for the day, week and reflect back, if needed.
I read a quote that said "Don't bite of more than you can chew . . . However I would rather chock on greatness than nibble on Mediocrity".
Today, we're going to start to nibble on mediocrity, then start to bite off more than we can chew to achieve greatness.
When I think of Da!ly Dr!ve . . . I think and feel . . . PASSION . . . What DR!VES me DA!LY?
When I look in the mirror, what do I see? Rather, who do I want to see?
There's a slight difference from the face that I see to the actual success that I really want to see. Let's face it (literally) there's not a slight difference, rather a HUGE GAP in who I am today and who I want to be tomorrow . . .
So many things race through my head, each and every day. So many emotions. So much passion. from Excitement, to Rage, from Sorrow & Sadness to Joy & Happiness. From Regret to Success . . . All the while I am still POSITIVE, yet disappointed . . .
Introspection . . . in·tro·spec·tion
ˌintrəˈspekSH(ə)n/
noun
- the examination or observation of one's own mental and emotional processes."quiet introspection can be extremely valuable"
synonyms: self-analysis, self-examination, soul-searching, introversion, self-
Self-awareness is the capacity for introspection and the ability to recognize oneself as an individual separate from the environment and other individuals.
Now I'm not a Doctor nor a psychiatrist, nor am I trying to cure anyone or anything, I'm just a regular guy with a STRONG DESIRE to SUCCEED . . . Back in 2001, I started mentoring and training people, mainly sales people, at first. Taking HIPOTENTIALS under my wings and helping them become successful. When applied, it was very effective. And for 14 years, I've been honing my craft and perfecting myself and others. I've had 10 professional jobs in 21 years (roughly 1 every other year) . . . So you could say that I have some experience, both good and bad. I've had some really great bosses and some really terrible bosses. I also, always speak my mind. I believe . . . Say what you mean and mean what you say. It has not always served me well, but at least I can sleep at night. I've stood alone, many time before and have been ridiculed for it. Again, at least I can sleep at night. I've helped more people than I can count and a lot of them have appreciated my service. When I look back and count the hours of one on one personal coaching, it's well over 17,000 hours and well over 1560 people, personally, in one way or another. Weather it's career coaching, career promoting or career transition, I've been there for people more than I can count. And I LOVE IT . . . That's why I started Coffee Coaches and I'm now, starting this blog. so if you have any feedback and you want to share, both good and bad, I always welcome feedback.
Thank you for stopping by my blog site and ready this. I would really appreciated it if you would watch my two video's, which are less than 2 min. each.
